Texas Home Insurance Rates Aren't Number One

Here's some good news.  According to an article in the Dallas Morning News quoting figures from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners., Texas homeowners no longer rank first when it comes to the cost of home insurance.  The state now ranks third although our costs are still way above the national average.  According to the NAIC, Texas homeowners are paying an average of $1,578 for a year of homeowner's insurance.  The national average is  $978.
